The Talent Management function is part of the HR Business Partnering function. Talent Management is currently a small team but You will be a sign of the company’s growing focus on employee development in order to help the company meet critical business goals and ensure employees are engaged and excited about their development opportunities.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Talent Management Director will be responsible for building the global talent management & development infrastructure. The position designs and implements talent management strategy, programs and processes, including assessment frameworks, development programs, career development, training and learning, talent development, and talent management/ performance management processes. This is a managerial position and you will lead the Talent Management Program Manager, reporting to Senior Director of HR Business Partner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build the global talent management & development strategy, & the infrastructure to deliver that strategy. Understand our priorities for talent and skills, and build a strategy for developing employees’ skills and knowledge within the organization.
- Build and align talent management processes, systems and reporting to ensure they are integrated with our strategic talent agenda
- Assess, review, and strengthen talent development and assessment frameworks globally
- In collaboration with company senior leadership, develop, promote and facilitate Organization & Talent Review process and culture on an enterprise-wide basis. Work with senior leaders in the organization to design and implement succession planning, senior leadership development programs, or other programs this role identifies as being critical to achieve organizational goals.
- Establish frameworks for assessment and evaluation, addressing and identifying solutions for skills and knowledge gaps through development, training, and other strategies
- Design, launch, and management career development frameworks, programs, tools, opportunities for employees
- Design, implement and oversee a global training strategy and platform, including the identification and implementation of critical in-house training for new and existing staff
- Develop and lead group facilitation, training, and presentation to various organizational audiences when needed
- Manage and leverage relationships with external vendors in the performance management, succession planning, executive coaching and other related talent initiatives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 10 years developing and leading talent management processes for a global organization including creating and implementing a global training platform
- Knowledge of the talent management cycle, including processes and programs in recruitment, competency modeling, performance management, career development, succession planning, and education and training
- Experience in implementing learning systems in a transformative organization including a thorough comprehension of organizational dynamics and change management
- Experience with vendor selection and management
- Experience operating in a forward thinking global business
- Successful track record working cross culturally
- Consultative and diagnostic skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication/presentation skills
- Able to build relationships cross-functionally, including building relationships with key stakeholders in the parent company and other Toyota Group companies
- Strong critical thinking skills - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Possesses complex problem solving skills – identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Strong leadership skills – willingness and ability to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction
- Possesses high sense of urgency
- Effective self-management and project management ability
- Business fluency in English and Japanese
