SUMMARY:

  1. This is a highly visible position that will identify and execute the Payment and Identity strategy for Boku in Japan
  2. You will be the commercial interface and responsible to identify, engage, develop, on-board and manage new and existing partners in Japan for Boku payment services. These include
    1. carriers - Docomo, KDDI, SoftBank
    2. eWallet partners – PayPay, LinePay, MerPay, AUpay, RakutenPay
    3. New LPMs partners –Rakuten Debit Card, J-Coin, payment service connected to bank account or direct debit etc
  3. You will also be the local account manager, supporting global account management to engage & and expand our business with key strategic merchants such as Apple, Sony, Netflix, DAZN etc. 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  1. Business Development & Partners Management
  2. Understand the payments business in Japan to identity, qualify, develop, manage and execute the Supply pipeline for Mobile Payment. This include direct carrier billing (DCB), Local Payment Methods (LPMs); i.e. PayPay, Lineay, MerPay, AUpay, RakutenPay Rakuten Debit Card, J-Coin, payment service connected to bank account or direct debit etc
  3. Support smooth & efficient partners on-boarding & service launch, ensuring full compliance to Boku’s business ethics, audit, and regulatory guidelines.
  4. Negotiate with partners to optimise conversion, improve pricing & marketing support and manage operational contract addendum, invoice & settlement issues
  5. Establish and manage strong relationships & rapport with key decision makers in carriers/eWallet/PSPs/merchants
  6. Become key ‘problem solver’ for partners in any matters related to Mobile Payments

 

  1. Interact and communication:
  2. Working closely with APAC management to develop the Payment strategy; ensure alignment on commercial strategies and business objectives.
  3. Working closely with internal stakeholders (i.e. Product, Project, Legal, Finance, Sales, Account Management etc) to finalize commercial, close contracts & complete technical integration with Mobile Payment partners (i.e. carriers/eWallet/PSPs/merchants)
  4. Act as the ‘partners’ champion’ within the organisation, and Boku’s ambassador to partners

QUALIFICATION:

  • A university degree/diploma in any discipline; preferrably in Business Adminstration, Sales & Marketing
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a combination of business development, project management, marketing or product development.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both Japanese & English.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. At least 3 years prior experience in business development, business management, sales position
  2. Experience and demonstrable records in managing complex projects, collaborating & engagement with internal & external cross functional teams & key stakeholders
  3. Experienced self-starter with a customer-centric focus, an analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
  1. Strong advantage if candidate has experience working in the Payment. Telco, eCommerce, FinTech; preferably in Mobile Payment, Alternative Payment, Local Payment Methods
