Test Engineer - Mission Planning

We are seeking a test engineer to join our team and help lead and execute our testing processes. This position is for someone with 3+ years of experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. This position is in Niceville, FL.

Responsibilities — What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that software products meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes.
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
- Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers.
- Create and maintain databases of known defects.
- May participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedule.
- Analyze existing test scenarios to ensure accuracy, relevance, and necessity.
- Conduct testing to identify defects and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure defects are well-written and have all the information that drives them to resolution.
- Create test-product documentation and participate in testing-related walkthroughs.
- Design and implement automated testing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Interact with the clients to better understand the product requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies related to software testing and quality.
Qualifications — We Need Someone Who:
- Is a U.S. Citizen and able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
- Has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Has 3+ years of experience in testing software and solutions or 3+ years of Mission Planning experience for the USAF or USN.
- Is proficient in test case design, test execution, and defect management.
- Has familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred — It's Even Better if You:
- Have experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or TestComplete.
- Have experience working with Mission Planning or Weapon Planning Software.
- Have any experience developing software in modern languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
