Symmetrio is actively recruiting for an Informatica Migration/Upgrade Developer for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The candidate will support the migration of our client's Informatica PowerCenter environment from version 8.1.1 to version 10.5. This critical project involves upgrading through multiple versions of the software, requiring expertise in installation, configuration, and migration of Informatica objects, workflows, and tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide hardware specifications for building virtual servers to support each Informatica version upgrade.
- Install and configure Informatica PowerCenter components (Client, ODBC, Repository server, Informatica server) on Windows 2019/2022 servers for versions 8.6.1, 9.5.1, 9.6.1, and 10.5.
- Perform step-by-step migration of the Informatica repository through each version upgrade.
- Verify and test the upgraded repository at each stage of the migration process.
- Set up and configure a test server environment, either by imaging the production server or repeating the upgrade process.
- Perform post-migration tasks, including incorporating current sequence IDs from Production into the Test Repository.
- Assist in uninstalling old Informatica software from servers.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to city staff responsible for maintaining the software.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter, including experience with version 8.1.1 and later
- Proven experience in Informatica PowerCenter upgrade migrations
- Expertise in Informatica PowerCenter software installation across multiple versions
- Ability to specify hardware requirements for Informatica environments
- Strong skills in developing end-to-end ETL processes in Informatica
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling, transformations, mappings, and workflows
- Proficiency in applying best practices to ETL development, testing, scheduling, and monitoring
- Solid understanding of SQL (standard)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide training to Informatica administrators/developers
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Informatica Certified Professional certification
- Experience with performance tuning in Informatica environments
- Familiarity with older versions of Informatica PowerCenter, particularly 8.1.1
