The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master. The candidate will work collaboratively with a high performing team of technical and business experts on a federal government program.
Role Specific Duties:
- Facilitate Agile Events: Organize and facilitate key Agile events, including Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Support the Team: Assist the team in meeting their delivery goals by coaching them in self-organization and self-management.
- Remove Impediments: Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress.
- Promote Agile Practices: Educate the team on Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan and Extreme Programming (XP).
- Close Collaboration: Work closely with Project Manager, Technical Lead, Product Owners, Developers and Testers to ensure alignment and coordination across the team
- Coordinate with other teams: Support the team's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams. Represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), helping the team remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve program effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing updates on team progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with Federal Stakeholders: Ensure alignment of deliverables with federal agency goals and project requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be a US Citizen and be Federal Tax compliant and able to get public trust suitability
- 6 years of commercial or Federal experience in IT or equivalent field
- Bachelor’s in computer science or similar technical subjects
- Strong understanding of SAFe, Scrum and Lean-Agile practices
- Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM), second or third level preferred). SAFe certifications preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience being a servant leader of one or multiple agile teams in Scrum Master or other key roles
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven expertise in deliverable tracking in an Agile environment
- Experience with Agile tools (for example JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) preferred
