TheMortgage Loan Officer serves new and existing mortgage loan customers with avariety of real estate loans. TheMortgage Loan Officer will combine a thorough knowledge of our availableproducts and lending policies with excellent service to help our customers findthe mortgage loan that fits their borrowing needs. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be expected todevelop and maintain strong working relationships with people and businessesassociated with the real estate industry to cultivate a profitable customerbase and clientele.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze loanapplications and make appropriate recommendations to our customers
Make creditdecisions, and structure loans, consistent with Los Alamos National Bank¿s(LANB¿s) guidelines and policies for Mortgage Loans
Beknowledgeable about all loan products LANB can offer and understand the basicstructure and requirements of these loans
Minimizepotential losses by ensuring that loans meet Bank policy and underwritingstandards
Performongoing management of loan portfolio
Understandcustomer¿s collateral, projects and business practices through review ofevaluation of collateral, employment, income, tax returns and any otherapplicable underwriting document that may be required.
Responsiblefor the timely recognition of potential problem loans and creation of properloan structure/work out plans to minimize any potential losses to the bank.
Activelysupervise and direct the members of your lending team.
Develop andmaintain a professional working relationship with internal support departments,as well as, external vendors/support services.
Understand and adhereto all bank policies, including but not limited to, the Corporate InformationSecurity Standards
Understand and adhereto all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including, but notlimited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering lawsand Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High Schooldiploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 yearsof Mortgage Lending experience required
Must have NMLS # or the ability to be licensed through the NMLSRegistry in compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act
Valid driver¿s license required to operateLANB corporate vehicles. Must have theability to travel to branch offices as needed
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communicationsskills, including the skills necessary to deal tactfully and professionallywith customers, employees, senior management, auditors and regulators
Knowledge of, and the ability to usecurrent technology proficiently, including a personal computer, keyboard and mouse, Microsoft Office(Outlook, Word and Excel) and other technology based tools
Good organizational skills, a high level ofaccuracy and strong attention to detail
Effective time management and the abilityto work independently in a team environment
Ability to handle sensitive informationwith complete confidentiality and professionalism
ENVIRONMENTALCONDITIONS:
Indoors in normal office environment withlittle exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperaturechanges at least ninety percent (90%) of the time
Frequent computer use at workstation varies- up to four hours at a time
Responsibilities may require an adjustedwork schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines
Public contact position requiringappropriate business-like apparel
PHYSICALDEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities ofthis job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach witharms and hands, talk and hear. Visionabilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjustfocus. Employee must also have theability to bend and lift up to ten(10) pounds.
