Financial Controller

Job Purpose

To work with all areas of business as an active partner and challenge the business from a finance perspective.

To develop and maintain best practice systems, processes, and policies in all areas of finance, tax and treasury, to ensure high quality management information, performance monitoring and compliance. Thereby, ensuring business decisions are based on sound information.

To communicate financial information effectively to all stakeholders and use it to drive change in the business.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

• Planning, implementing, and managing all finance activities at PCGB
• Managing financial risk and ensuring high standards of financial control exists
• Overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting, internal and external
• Implementation of all relevant accounting standards and laws
• The preparation of budgets and forecasts and the analysis of business performance
• Responsible for tax compliance, statutory tax reporting, tax risk and tax controls
• Senior Accounting officer as required by the Finance Act 2009
• Responsible for treasury, cashflow and banking controls
• Management of external audit and preparation of Statutory Accounts
• Provide advice on the financial and tax implications of new strategic projects
• Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance team

Other Duties:

• Deputising for the CFO
• Organisation of the Credit Committee responsible for extension of credit and stability of business partners
• Member of the defined contribution pension monitoring committee
• Organisation of the ECOS Residual Value Committee

Interaction with internal and external stakeholders:

Manage and develop strong relationships within Porsche Cars Great Britain, Porsche Retail Group and Porsche AG. Manage relationship with external auditors and HMRC.

The Individual:

The individual should have a strong academic background, with a degree preferably in finance or accounting. They should be a qualified accountant (FCA or equivalent), ideally have a minimum of 10 years' experience in finance and considerable experience in a financial management position. Experience with SAP and Bl software would be an asset.

The individual should have a high level of skill in:

• Finance systems and accounting processes
• Tax, accounting, and financial legislation
• Audit requirements, risk management and internal controls
• Presentation of financial analysis to Senior Management

The individual should have the following personal qualities:

• Strategic thinker
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead and innovate
