We are seeking a dynamic, creative, collaborative People and Culture Generalist to join the People and Culture team.  Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Generalist position will interact closely with hiring managers to identify and recruit top talent while ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment, hiring and onboarding process.  The Generalist is also responsible for key operational and administrative functions for the People and Culture team and will play a crucial role in supporting AIP Publishing’s employees.  

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Take ownership of the recruitment lifecycle, including, sourcing, screening, interviewing and ensuring seamless experiences for candidates and hiring managers
  • In concert with the Director, People and Culture, cultivate strong relationships with hiring managers to understand key functions, competencies, and skills for open positions and leverage expertise and excellent customer service to timely fill open positions
  • Partner with hiring managers for the creation of job postings and post job advertisements in Greenhouse (ATS), industry specific and DEI job boards
  • Ensure compliance in the hiring and selection process by having a solid understanding of regulatory/legal requirements, company practices, processes, regulatory reporting, Affirmative Action, and EEO-1 reporting

Onboarding:

  • Oversee onboarding process and act as a point of contact for new hires and hiring managers, addressing any questions or concerns

Employee Support:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing general information and liaison with AIP to answer questions relating to payroll and benefits
  • Answer general FMLA inquiries and support both employees and managers in their collaboration with AIP and external vendor

Documentation and Compliance: 

  • Manage employee electronic paperwork and ADP files, maintain a confidential, organized filing system for correspondence, policies, and HR-related documents, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as maintaining I-9 and NY State-mandated compliance, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Oversee various P&C programs and document, processing timely, in alignment with policy and in conjunction with payroll deadlines
  • Complete unemployment claims accurately and timely

ADP Maintenance:

  • Input and maintain the integrity of ADP HRIS data and generate reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated success in full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and HR administration required
  • 2+ years Greenhouse (ATS) required
  • ADP lookup and data entry experience required
  • Experience answering general FMLA inquiries a plus
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to change
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in decision-making
  • Has a collaborative/consultative approach to work
  • Ability to work on projects with competing priorities simultaneously

Additional details:

$31.25 hourly (65K) - $38.50 hourly (80K)

Salary within the above posted range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience.  

To be considered candidates must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC.  This is a remote first plus convening opportunity.
