The European IPR Department is located in Munich, Germany, and it comprises an international and diverse team of attorneys-at-law, patent attorneys, patent engineers, and paralegals.</p><p><br></p><p>Join us as a</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>Senior IP Counsel (m/w/d)</strong></strong></p><strong><strong><p><strong><strong><br></strong></strong></p>Your mission</strong></strong><p></p><ul><li>Supporting the protection of Huawei’s valuable (technical) inventions in Europe by developing and implementing (patent) prosecution, licensing and litigation strategies.</li><li>Supporting Huawei’s efforts in licensing its patents, in particular its standard-essential patents (SEPs), by identifying potential licensees, by drafting license agreements, and by conducting licensing negotiations.</li><li>Supporting Huawei’s patent litigation campaigns, specifically before German Courts, the Unified Patent Court (UPC), and the UK Courts; coordination with parallel litigation campaigns e.g., in China, U.S. and/or other jurisdictions; hand-in-hand cooperation with Huawei’s in-house engineers and with Huawei’s outside litigation counsels and law firms.</li><li>Representing Huawei’s interests and standpoints vis-à-vis other stakeholders, e.g. in the context of international patent law conferences or workshops.</li><li>Helping to build up a strong patent portfolio by reviewing and evaluating patent applications, by selecting granted patents for litigation, and by supporting to defend Huawei’s patents against nullity attacks. </li></ul><p><strong><strong>Your areas of expertise</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Law degree (1<sup>st</sup>State Examination, Diploma, Master, or Bachelor), at best with a focus on European IP law;</li><li>Admission as an Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt) in an EU member state;</li><li>Solid technical and commercial interest and understanding, specifically regarding telecommunication technologies and licensing of related patents;</li><li>At least 3-5 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel, both in Europe;</li><li>Experience in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation and licensing projects, specifically regarding standard essential patents (SEPs) and FRAND related matters;</li><li>English C1 level; preferably, German C1 level in addition; excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking as well as ability to present legal, commercial and technical arguments in a convincing manner;</li><li>Readiness to travel internationally from time to time; intercultural understanding.</li></ul><p> </p><p>By applying to this position, you agree with our Recruitment Privacy Statement.
