Responsible for providing clerical support for all mortgage loan processing activities. Maintains escrow accounts, processes and pays property taxes and home owners insurance. Obtains and verifies necessary information and prepares documents for underwriting and closing review. Participates with communicating loan status to all involved parties including U1 Mortgage Loan Officer , buyer, seller, realtor, and title company representatives. Assists or refers members as necessary.
Responsibilities/Duties
Assumes responsibility for providing effective clerical support for all phases of mortgage loan activities
Follow up on orders for appraisals and title reports. Verifies employment, salary, assets, and liabilities.
Reviews all information provided to third party vendor & communicates with third party vendor and U1 Mortgage Loan Officer as necessary. Clarifies missing or questionable information. Follows up with outside sources to obtain outstanding documents. Ensures that all necessary items are available for underwriting. Tracks development of information to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
Communicates status of loans to U1 Mortgage Loan Officer, buyer, seller, realtor, and title company.
Prepares files for closing. Checks appraisal and interest rate lock. Obtains records for homeowner's insurance and verifies employment verbally within 10 days of loan closing.
Maintains escrow accounts, processes and pays property taxes and home owners insurance.
Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records including mortgage payoff's and releases.
Creating loan record for ported loans, audits loan files and prepares files for shipment.
Main point of contact for third party vendor operations staff with outstanding loan files.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members and mortgage professionals. To include; resolving (or referring) requests and questions promptly and courteously; answering member loan questions regarding applications in the process of approval; keeping members and realtors properly informed of mortgage status and Credit Union policies and procedures; notifying members of additional information required; maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management. Assists area personnel as required. Keeps manager informed of area activities and significant problems, making suggestions to improve efficiencies of operation and improved member service. Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. Attends meetings as suggested or required. Takes advantage of educational and training opportunities provided by the Credit Union and/or affiliated organizations.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Professionally cross-sells products and services to provide superior service to improve and enhance each member's financial well-being. Actively and professionally cross sells Credit Union services to current and prospective members. Performs related duties as needed. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year financial institution experience required.
Well organized with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, service, attention to detail, and people skills.
Ability to interact with other departments and personnel.
Strong financial math skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of processing experience in the mortgage field preferred.
