The American University in the Emirates is searching for a Career & Internship Officer in the Employability, Alumni, and Industry Partnership Office  to be responsible for providing career counseling regarding career decision-making and the job search process for students and alumni and Internship placement.

Salary Range & Benefits: AED 9,000 & Additional Benefits

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master or a bachelor’s in education management or related field from an accredited university  
  • 3 – 5 years’ practical experience in university. 
  • Preferably bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)

Skills / Training / Knowledge

  • Efficiently handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with employers, alumni, and other professionals.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, professional documents such as emails, reports, and resumes.
  • Planning and organizing career fairs, workshops, and informational sessions.
  • Addressing student inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Job Description

  1. Plan and execute specialized training to enhance student employability. 
  2. Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with employers in the public and private sectors in alignment with the programs offered at AUE to ensure a pool of potential internship placement sites and employment opportunities for students.
  3. Schedule, plan and execute the University’s Annual Career Fair in addition to other on-campus job recruitment activities.
  4. Develop an annual budget that adequately serves the department goals annually.
  5. Prepare bi-annual reports on OCI activities and present employer and internship supervisor feedback to the relevant units/departments for inclusion in institutional decision-making.
  6. Offer career guidance and career counseling to students and alumni.
  7. Manage the student internship process by ensuring appropriate internship placement in collaboration with the Colleges, conduct thorough internship-site visits, and monitor the internship exemption process to ensure alignment with University policies and procedures.
  8. Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University mission in line with the university advancement and fundraising plan.
  9. Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support for the institution.
  10. Perform any duties as assigned by the superiors.
