About Homeward

Buying a home should be an exciting milestone. But all too often, it’s stressful, especially in a competitive market or when you’re buying and selling at the same time. So we’re redesigning the homebuying experience. We’re a fast-paced real estate startup that empowers agents to help homebuyers buy with cash. We buy homes on behalf of our partners’ clients with our cash, then the client buys the home back from us.

About the opportunity

The Homeward Mortgage Team is responsible for conducting the financial review and approval of every customer that works with Homeward. We’re focused on bringing financial innovations to life and delivering a seamlessly integrated mortgage experience. We are the newest team at Homeward and are looking for subject matter experts and business people with an entrepreneur's mindset and ability to get stuff done.

As part of the team, you’ll be ensuring that Homeward’s customers move quickly and efficiently through the mortgage transaction ensuring all important dates are met. Your role is to deliver a seamless approval and closing experience to every Homeward customer. This position will challenge your ability to manage complex operational processes while working cross-functionally with other teams including product, engineering, and customer experience among others.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Review, execute and manage loan file registration and lock requests (1+ years of relevant prior experience preferred) with appropriate investors
  • Process lock change requests, reprice requests, concessions, and lock extension
  • Self-starter willing to lead and take ownership of various projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reconcile loan sale proceeds
  • Assist/Create with Management Report

Other duties as assigned

  • Register and lock loans with investors; ensure accuracy between lender and investor pricing engine
  • Run reporting in Encompass and Optimal Blue
  • Self-starter willing to lead and take ownership of various projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned

About you:

  • Knowledge of mortgage industry concepts, practices, procedures, and mortgage loan documentation. Encompass and Optimal Blue experience is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high production environment
  • The drive to build something new
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry concepts, practices, procedures, and mortgage loan documentation
  • Pricing Analyst experience is a plus
  • Encompass and Optimal Blue experience are a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high production environment
  • The drive to build something new
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exception attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work
  • Must be able to work 8PM to 5 AM shift
  • Comfortable with Work from home work set up
