About this opportunity
Our client is a global accountancy firm based in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and seeking to hire a US Tax Manager.
In this role, you’ll be an important part of a team assisting businesses, individuals and organizations with tax strategy, planning and compliance. The position will give you the opportunity to collaborate in the development of comprehensive integrated solutions, advising clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant in the US tax space. There is great potential for future progression within the firm.
Key responsibilities as a US Tax Manager are as follow:
- Oversee a prestigious portfolio of financial services clients, mainly in Investments (Funds) or Insurance sectors, whilst managing other staff
- Our people work on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with clients’ business objectives
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products
- Demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts; and discuss moderately complex tax issues with engagement team and client management
- Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
- Accurately analyse information; prepare practical and effective approaches to clients’ tax situations to arrive at appropriate conclusions
- Share ideas with others and actively contribute to achieving team goals
- Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans, and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas
- Manage engagements whilst supervising a small team
- Deliver quality service to clients on budget, on time and within resources
- Liaise internally with other key departments within the firm
- Report to and liaise with Directors and Partners on tax advisory projects

What you'll need
- You must be a fully qualified CPA (US designation only)
- 5+ years' relevant experience for a Manager position (7+ years' for a Senior Manager role) specialising in US tax issues of partnerships and corporations
- Tax experience working with hedge funds, private equity funds, other investment partnerships and/or insurance companies
- Possess strong US corporate tax experience already at Manager level, ideally but not necessarily in a Big Four or Top10 accountancy firm
- Experience of working with financial services corporate clients is required
- Good supervisory, organisational and communication skills
- Excellent PC proficiency skills
