Our portfolio of tools can be used by organizations of any size and includes TalentLMS - a zero-overhead cloud LMS, eFront - an enterprise LMS, TalentCards - a mobile app for training the deskless workforce, and TalentHR - a lightweight HRIS to manage people ops. We are competing with the world’s top eLearning solutions and we aim at becoming world’s #1.

We're on a mission to democratize training by developing simple, accessible, and affordable software. We count 12.000+ companies as customers and with more than 12 million users across 126 countries logging in to use our platforms, we are a much-loved global leader in learning tech. At home, we are quickly becoming one of the largest SaaS company to come out of Greece.

We are looking for a Mid-Level PHP Engineer to join our eFront team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in PHP development and a solid understanding of web development best practices. They will work closely with fellow developers, as well as our product and design teams, to ensure that our applications are secure, customizable, and user-friendly.

Over the past two years, the eFront team has modernized our platform by adopting new technologies and optimizing our codebase. We transitioned from a legacy MVC pattern to a client-server architecture with REST API design principles, emphasizing SOLID principles and unit tests for quality and reliability. On the front-end, we moved from Bootstrap and jQuery to VueJS and TailwindCSS, writing componentized, maintainable code. These efforts enhance security, scalability, and performance while introducing new features to improve the user experience.

Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Software Engineer (PHP), you will:

  • Work in compact, autonomous, product-driven teams, alongside fellow backend, frontend, and QA engineers.
  • Take on tasks that are broken and distributed among the entire team, and not entirely up to one person to deliver.
  • Participate in pairs, mobs, technical discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
  • Help us continue modernizing the product and keep moving forward towards new technologies.
  • Actively participate in how each new feature is designed, developed, and delivered.
  • Write modern PHP code following industry standard best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and continuous improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role as an Enterprise Software Engineer (PHP), you should:

  • At least 3 years of experience in modern PHP development.
  • Experienced with frameworks like Laravel or Symfony, or using PHP with modern practices.
  • Proficient in writing Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) code.
  • Experienced with architectural patterns and unit testing.
  • Comfortable working with legacy code and eager to transform it into modern, optimized code.
  • A true team player; you thrive in collaborative environments.
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback regularly.
  • A can-do attitude; you do what it takes to get the job done.

The most important thing we offer is a safe and healthy professional environment, giving you the opportunity to work on products that positively impact millions globally.
