About the Role
As Controller, you will be a key part of our team, responsible for transitioning our financial operations from an outsourced model to a fully in-house function. You’ll fully own our accounting processes, enhance financial reporting, restructure our financial systems, and prepare for future audits. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with leadership to improve our closing speed and deliver timely, accurate financial presentations/reports to the board. If you’re an experienced controller who thrives on building and optimizing financial functions in a highly collaborative environment, this role is for you.
This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with our People Team. The first 30 days within the role will be spent learning and understanding the current business and our existing accounting procedures while working closely with our outsourced accounting firm.
After settling into the position you will work directly with our Chief Operating Officer on what reporting and new charts of accounts look like. From there you will be responsible for providing a full proposal of what should be changed and implemented to support Mobi’s accounting and finances.
After implementing and executing the new processes this position will focus on growing the financial department, bringing on an in-house accounting team with the help of our people team.
Required Skills
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience
- CPA
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Mastery of Quickbooks (or other GL products/ systems)
- Experience working with a venture-backed start-up
- Experience completing fundraising rounds for start-ups
- Worked within an Operational Financial role (senior accountant or controller)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong comfort working in ambiguous environments
- General curiosity
The base salary range for this US full-time position is between $150,000- $200,000 and is eligible for an annual company bonus, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (ISO) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates. The following factors are considered when determining the compensation offered: work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training.
