Please note this is a hybrid position and requires you to work from our studio (Studio Address: 840 Cambie Street, Vancouver BC) for part of the work week. This is not a remote opportunity.

 

Are you a digital wizard with a knack for turning creative visions into visual masterpieces? If so, we need you! Animal Logic, part of Netflix, is looking for an Imaging TD to support our team on our next animated feature! As an Imaging TD, you'll be the unsung hero behind the scenes, ensuring our VFX Supervisors, CG Supervisors, and creative craft Supervisors can bring their creative ideas to life.

What you'll get to do:

  • Understand and meet the visual requirements of our films using design procedures, techniques, and tools
  • Assist VFX, CG, and creative craft Supervisors in creating a standardized, color-accurate review system
  • Ensure tools and procedures support the creative process
  • Create and update Creative Review and Imaging processes
  • Provide solutions to visual problems using existing or new tools and optimize department workflow
  • Test and validate new pipeline tool releases (RV, SyncSketch, FlowCapture, Proprietary Software) and automated tools (Farm)
  • Liaise with R&D to ensure compliance with internal best practices
  • Understand adjoining department processes and provide input to maximize efficiency and quality
  • Establish partnerships with upstream TD groups, such as Lighting

Requirements:

  • 1 + years’ experience on animated feature films or VFX feature films, working with playback tool RV
  • Proven pipeline TD experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and/or VFX feature films. 
  • Post-secondary Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in relevant fields such as Animation, Film, Computer Science, Design, Engineering, Maths, or Physics
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or Mu
  • Proven experience with review tools such as RV, SynchSketch, Clearview and Bluescape
  • Experience solving creative issues within a review and playback ecosystem, collaborating with Supervisors, Artist, and Production Staff
  • Thorough understanding of compositing and colour theory
  • A comprehensive understanding of 3D tools in Nuke and 3D matrice
  • Advanced level of understanding of Digital Content Creation packages and rendering technologies
  • Proactive problem solver, adaptable and calm under workload pressures
  • Collaborative, relationship-builder, and knowledge-sharer
  • Efficient in organizing and prioritizing work across multiple areas
  • Strong written and verbal English skills
  • Effective communicator with technical and artistic teams

The base wage range for this position is $33.65 - $41.35 per hour. The wage offered for this role will be commensurate with, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, years of experience, relevant education, and other applicable qualifications related to the role. The wage offered is based on a 40-hour work week and is not inclusive of Animal Logic’s extended benefits package, long-term incentives, bonuses, overtime pay or other components that may be applicable to the total compensation package for this role.
