The fleet coordinator is both a hands on and computer-based position that engages in a wide range of duties which support the fleet management team and the local operations groups with the daily operations of the fleet.
Key Job Duties:
· Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and compliance of company vehicles in multiple states (ME, VT, MA, MO, and AL).
· Order and maintain the inventory of fleet supplies at local office locations.
· Issue fuel PINs, driver ID fobs, and update vehicle assignments for new drivers in the company’s fleet management system.
· Prepare new vehicles for delivery to their drivers by registering them at the DMV, coordinating equipment installation with local vendors, and stocking these vehicles with company issued materials and safety supplies.
· Troubleshoot issues with company vehicle GPS devices.
· Assist with training drivers on fleet equipment and fleet policies.
· Perform inspections on fleet assets within the local footprint for mechanical condition and DOT compliance.
· Complete minor repairs on company equipment when needed (examples: light bulbs, wiper blades, strobe lights, ladder rack adjustments).
· Travel as needed within the local market (Maine, VT, MA) to complete these fleet related duties.
· Respond to inquiries and provide support to drivers and the local management teams regarding fleet operations.
· Provide regular reports on key fleet performance metrics and compliance.
· Assist the fleet management team with special projects and tasks.
Basic Requirements & Skills:
· Experience with computers systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
· Mechanical knowledge of automotive vehicles.
· 2 years+ of experience working in an automotive or fleet administrative role.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and positive attitude, accompanied by a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and adapt as necessary to the needs of the department.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Prior fleet administration and hands-on automotive repair experience.
Experience working with fleet management databases such as ARI/Holman Fleet.
College degree in relevant field.
