Marine Corps Heritage Foundation is seeking a Development Services Assistant to support ongoing fundraising efforts through assistance in gift processing and the execution of fulfillment operations relating to the Foundation’s direct mail, major giving, planned giving, and special development programs.
Location:
Fully in-person: This is an in-person position located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA 22172.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately record contributions and donor data in development database
- Gift batch data entry and reporting
- Distribution of contribution backup to appropriate parties
- Retention of contribution backup
- Assist with production activities, as directed, to support the development services program
- Assemble membership packages in concert with DS Manager’s weekly acknowledgement production
- Package and mail gift acknowledgments
- Produce and mail tribute and tribute notification letters
- Assist with processing of responses through DM program and donor record maintenance
- Process address changes, deceased flags, solicitation codes, etc.
- Assist with maintenance of the Engraved Brick program information as well as installation of bricks in Semper Fidelis Memorial Park
- Register brick inscriptions in database
- Package and mail brick acknowledgements and brick certificates
- Process inscription changes and produce change certificates in a timely fashion
- Maintain brick archives and records of submitted changes
- Assist during brick installs to ensure inscriptions are correct and brick groups are installed properly
- Assist with response processing for the Planned Giving program
- Route requests and responses through DM program to PG manager
- Maintain hard copy records for the planned giving program per program guidelines
- Assist with donor stewardship program through direct donor communication
- Screen incoming written correspondence and/or telephone inquiries from constituents
- Prepare written and/or verbal responses to inquiries both independently and in consultation with senior team members.
- Ability to take credit card donations over the phone using proper discretion and respect for privacy
- Provide lunch relief for reception desk as needed.
- Provide support and backup as needed to the Development CoordinatorServices Supervisor
- Assist with other special activities, as assigned, such as Event support
- Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- 4-year degree in a related field
- 1+ years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent compensation combination of education and professional experience
- Experience in non-profit or military organizations, preferred
Technological Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Working knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge or comparable CSM/database software
