We are looking for an experienced Python Developer Senior to join our R&D Characters team to push interactivity and creativity in the character creation process. We view characters holistically, from modeling, rigging, and animation to CFX and crowds. Each of these departments contributes to creating our unique characters, which are the core of our unforgettable stories. In this role, you will partner with artists, engineers, and other stakeholders to design and implement innovative workflows, as well as state-of-the-art solutions, contributing to our in-house suite of character tools.
Responsabilities
- Contribute to our in-house character suite of tools developed in Python.
- Engineer solutions that can work standalone or integrated into various Digital Content Creation Applications, like Autodesk Maya and SideFX Houdini.
- Able to assess code performance, optimize for speed/memory, and develop scalable and adaptable architectures.
- Work closely with Artists and Technical Directors to build new workflows and solutions.
- Contribute to a collaborative atmosphere where all members of the team can thrive, supporting our technical guidelines and methodologies such as agile and scrum.
- Mentors other team members.
- Demonstrates technical influence through innovation.
- Fosters relationships with peers, supervision, stakeholders, and others in the studio.
Requirements
- +5 years designing and developing complex user-facing software, ideally in a studio environment.
- Proficiency in Python with the ability to quickly produce clear, testable code.
- Experience with GUI development and user experience processes.
- Experience or proven ability to mentor people.
- Experience with performance measurement, profiling, and analysis tools.
- BS or master's in computer science, Computer Engineering, or other related field; or comparable industry experience.
- Experience with agile development and scrum methodology.
- High level of English.
