Lucid is seeking a dynamic and high performing Sr. Tax Accountant to join our Tax team, focusing on indirect tax. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, compliance, and efficient operations across Lucid. We also partner, cross-functionally, to appropriately allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and facilitate the execution of our operational plans.
Responsibilities:
- Manage U.S. indirect tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely filing of sales & use tax returns
- Manage global indirect tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT and GST returns
- Regularly research and evaluate global digital tax rules and any potential impact to Lucid. Work with the team towards implementation of any new tax requirements to ensure global compliance
- Manage and scale tax exemption certificates process
- Assist with voluntary disclosure agreements and business registrations on an as-needed basis
- Assist in developing and complying with internal controls for transaction tax functions and identify process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure tax account reconciliations, controls and processes are appropriately managed and reported in a timely manner
- Contribute to automation of tax processes
- Support the tax department in managing tax notices, payments and any ad hoc projects
- Provide data collection and research support as part of foreign and state/local tax audits
- Manage personal property tax returns
- Work closely with Accounts Receivable and Order Management teams in responding to customer inquiries relating to tax matters
- Assist, as needed, with the preparation of Lucid’s federal, state, and foreign income/franchise tax returns
- Assist as needed with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong tax research and data analytic skills
- Excel proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Superb written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey meaningful information, clearly and concisely

Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience preparing and/or reviewing US state sales and use tax returns
- Foreign indirect tax experience (VAT, GST, etc.)
- Experience with Avalara and/or other tax determination tools
