Position: Before and After School Early Childhood EducatorWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Before and After School Early Childhood Educator to join our team!Location: Sir Wilfred Laurier Childcare Centre
Hours: 27.75 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 915 am and 3 pm to 6pm
Pay Rate as per the Collective Agreement (includes wage grants):RECE $27.72/hr; Non RECE - $25.18/hr
About the Role:Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Before & After School Early Childhood Educator will create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth of the children.

What We’re Looking For:Qualifications:- Minimum of 1-year experience working directly with children, or in a childcare setting with school-aged children.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent qualifications, such as a Child & Youth Worker, OCT – Teacher, or Recreation & Leisure diploma.
Certifications:- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Skills & Knowledge:- Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances

Key Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, and evaluate activities that support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care at all times.
- Create and maintain an engaging, warm, and welcoming environment for children and families.
- Conduct daily check-ins and documentation according to Ministry of Education requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty and maintain professional relationships.
