Safran Engineering Services has a new requirement for Quality Engineer focusing on DVI-PPAP / Manufacturing.
The Quality Engineer shall work within the Manufacturing Engineer Team to compile DVI-PPAP in accordance with AS9102 - latest issue and Safran procedure, mainly preparing DVI-PPAP, collecting / compiling data, going to the shop floor shadowing the operators during the assembly
The individual will work in close contact with the customer and stakeholders across the business. Key communication and engagement to maintain customer satisfaction and confidence is critical. The role will based onsite at Burnley, Lancashire for an initial period of 12m
Responsibilities:
- Understand, create FAIR / DVI-PPAP reports (and potentially validate FAIR / DVI-PPAP reports after following the qualification process)
- Ballooning of drawings (manually or automatically)
- Extract drawing characteristics and requirements from build manual / specifications to populate the FAIR / DVI-PPAP reports
- Retrieve records from Database (CofC’s, …)
- Access Database to ensure that previous FAIRs / DVI-PPAP for sub-assemblies / detail parts are referenced
- Liaise with Nacelles Teams (Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing, …)
- Ensure the good communication between the customer stakeholders and the Safran Engineering Services teams
Requirements
- Be located in the UK and can provide evidence of the right to work in the UK
- 3-5 years experience of working within a quality engineer role within a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards (AS9102 essential, AS9103 and AS9145 not essential but good to be)
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, tools, and methodologies
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, layout, build manual and specifications
- Ability to compare specification and CoC with Suppliers
- Knowledge of 8D and other problem solving experience (not essential)
- Manual inspection experience
- Motivated and excellent team player
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
