About the role
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in pre-owned luxury watches who should have worked within a quality control environment. Having experience in Luxury fashion jewelry is a plus.
An eye for detail is key, being a horologist and a gemologist would be an ideal combination that we are looking for. The role involves thorough inspection, authentication & reviewing hundreds of products monthly to ensure they meet the quality standards, are 100% authentic and are luxury brand compliant, as well as managing third party service providers. Experience working with luxury fashion brands is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Review all inbound luxury watches according to set guidelines to determine acceptable/unacceptable conditions, adhering to strict standards of quality.
- Clean watches & fine jewelry.
- Assist Watch Authenticators with quality checks.
- Perform battery change & minor repair of watches.
- Research items to determine style, name, season, and retail price.
- Locate brand identifiers such as brand hallmarks, serial codes, authenticity cards etc.
- Identify genuine and modified materials/products.
- Develop personal strategies for research methods, focusing on efficiency and accuracy to prioritize the work flow.
- Conduct research and produce documentation for brand authentication guides.
- Assist internal team in handling client requests about condition grading specifications.
- Maintain a seamless flow of communication with multiple departments including photography, web content and customer service.
Requirements
- Horologist Required.
- At least 3 years of technical work experience in the luxury watch industry.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Knowledge about watch making is a plus.
- Technical knowledge & familiar with watch making tools.
- Average to excellent vision (or corrected vision), without any color deficiencies (color blindness).
- MS Office expertise.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational & time management skills and acute attention to detail.
- Independent, patient, responsible and embracing a positive work attitude.
- Smart and Fast learner.
- Capable of working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Working with physical items & multitasking.
- Can-do attitude, with a strong teamwork orientation.
