What You'll Do
- Guide career development, manage conflicts, and nurture a positive work environment. Develop career plans with team members, provide guidance on skill development, and follow up on their evolution.
- Set clear goals, mentor the team, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Oversee project lifecycles, from concept to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Work closely with technical product managers and other stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Guide the team in delivering reliable, scalable, and high-availability solutions, staying updated on industry trends to drive innovation.
- Encourage a culture of learning and improvement, provide technical guidance, and support team members in both technical and soft skills.
- Engage in regular 1:1 meetings with team members, provide constant feedback, and create a safe environment for open discussion.
- Conduct technical and executive interviews, train the team on interviewing techniques, and ensure a smooth recruitment process.
- Identify and address gaps in team capabilities and processes to enhance team efficiency and success.
- Apply statistical analytical techniques to tackle complex data challenges, innovate with new technologies and methods to solve business problems, and work on diverse, geographically distributed project teams.
What You'll Need
- Ideally, they have over 10 years of experience in data or software engineering and 3 years of proven experience in people management, including guiding career development, addressing conflicts, and fostering a healthy work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working in dynamic environments, and able to work independently without close supervision.
- Autonomous in recognizing priorities, evaluating the impact of outcomes, and passionate about software development with a focus on high quality.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of mentoring engineers and promoting a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Deep understanding of data processing, comfortable working with multi-terabyte datasets, and skilled in high-scale data ingestion, transformation, and distributed processing.
- Experience with the latest technologies and trends in Data and Cloud platforms.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders, providing clear written and verbal communication.
- Creative problem-solving skills, continuously seeking improvements for processes and solutions.
- Leadership and mentorship demonstrate the ability to mentor engineers, fostering their growth and development, and you have successfully partnered with product and machine learning teams on strategic data initiatives.
- Commitment to quality, you take pride in delivering work that excels in data accuracy, performance, and reliability, setting a high standard for the team and the organization.
