<h4>What we are looking for</h4><p>As part of business growth and expansion, we are looking for a talented and experienced Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineer (ISRE) to join our dynamic team. They will be responsible for building, deploying, managing, and maintaining our physical server infrastructure across colocation centres in Africa, integral for our telephony integration projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of telephony systems, including FreeSwitch and Asterisk, and extensive experience in Linux cloud VPS management, AWS, Azure, and network architecture.</p><h4><br></h4><h4>What does the job involve</h4><ul><li>Server and Infrastructure Management<p></p><ul><li>Build, deploy, manage, and maintain physical servers in colocation centres across Africa.</li><li>Provision, configure, and manage multiple Linux cloud Virtual Private</li><li>Servers (VPSs) in a high-availability environment.</li><li>Ensure the integrity, security, and high availability of critical infrastructure.</li></ul></li><li>Telephony Systems Expertise<p></p><ul><li>Configure and manage telephony systems including FreeSwitch and Asterisk.</li><li>Set up and integrate Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connections, including E1 interfaces for telephony services.</li><li>Implement and maintain telephony system integrations, ensuring high reliability and performance.</li></ul></li><li>Networking<p></p><ul><li>Design, set up, and manage VPNs and VLANs across our network infrastructure.</li><li>Ensure optimal network performance, security, and scalability.</li><li>Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.</li></ul></li><li>Cloud Platforms<p></p><ul><li>Manage AWS services including but not limited to EC2, S3, and VPC.</li><li>Experience with Azure cloud services is a significant plus; provisioning, managing, and optimizing resources.</li><li>Implement and maintain cloud-based solutions to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.</li></ul></li></ul><h4><br></h4><h4>Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.</li><li>At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role, with a focus on telephony systems and infrastructure management</li><li>Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.</li><li>Expertise in telephony systems such as FreeSwitch and Asterisk, including SIP and PSTN/E1 integrations.</li><li>Experience with telephony hardware like Sangoma cards, but not necessary.</li><li>Proficient in networking technologies, including VPNs, VLANs, and network security best practices.</li><li>Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and containerisation technologies.</li><li>Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash).</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.</li><li>Willingness to travel to colocation centers across Africa as needed.</li><li>Deep experience with Linux Server Management is required</li></ul><h4><br></h4><h4>Benefits</h4><ul><li>Competitive salary and other benefits</li></ul> •
