Who You Are
We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Director of FP&A to lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning for Ontic. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you’ll play a key role in driving financial performance and providing valuable insights to senior leadership in fast-paced environments. You'll work closely with teams across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, using your financial expertise to support key business initiatives.
We’re looking for someone who knows SaaS financial models inside and out, with strong leadership skills and experience scaling high-growth companies. As part of the Finance leadership team, you’ll be the trusted advisor who will help guide Ontic’s growth and make an impact on our financial success. As Director of FP&A at Ontic, no two days will be the same! Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the company's financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives
- Lead and manage the company's P&L, capital expenditure, and cash flow quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes
- Provide in-depth financial analysis and thought leadership to support key management decisions, focusing on enhancing Ontic's financial strategy and operational efficiency
- Drive financial reporting, and metrics, including preparing presentations and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors
- Collaborate with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Product, to align financial goals and achieve G&A and operational KPI targets
- Support M&A transaction analysis and business development efforts, providing financial insights on potential deals and their impact on Ontic's strategic growth
- Conduct detailed analysis of historical performance, financial results, trends, productivity metrics, capital expenditures, and industry benchmarks
- Evaluate existing financial reporting and data management routines, identifying opportunities for simplification, enhancement, and automation to improve team productivity and efficiency
- Lead the development and implementation of financial systems and tools, such as ERP, business intelligence (BI), budgeting, and forecasting tools, ensuring they meet the company's evolving needs
- Provide proactive, ongoing, and ad hoc reporting and analysis to senior leadership, helping to track and manage key performance indicators like Rule of 40, Burn analysis, ARR walks, client acquisition cost (CAC), and net dollar retention
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial plans align with Ontic’s broader business objectives, particularly in the areas of operational excellence and scalable growth
- You will lead a small but mighty team of FP&A professionals and help us scale the team
- Develop models to assess business scenarios and strategic initiatives
- Manage and mentor the FP&A team, fostering growth and performance
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, focusing on SaaS or tech-driven businesses
- Experience leading FP&A functions in a startup environment, interfacing with the board and investors and a knowledge of SEC processes and requirements
- Proven track record of leading financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes in high-growth environments
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and how they drive business performance
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing FP&A teams
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to align financial and business goals
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and presenting insights to senior leadership
- Familiarity with financial tools and systems like ERP, BI, and forecasting platforms
