PERM - OBV. Unit - 12HR Nights

• Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor and document patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature. Report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
• Patient Care: Assist in providing basic patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
• Safety and Comfort: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients. Ensure that patients have access to necessary supplies and that their comfort and privacy are respected.
• Documentation: Accurately document observations, interventions, and patient responses in the medical records or electronic health record (EHR) system as directed by the nursing staff.
• Communication: Collaborate with the nursing team to communicate any changes in patient condition, concerns, or needs. Report any unusual or concerning observations promptly.
• Equipment Management: Set up and maintain monitoring equipment, ensuring that it is functioning correctly. Troubleshoot minor technical issues and notify appropriate personnel for equipment maintenance or repair.
• Patient Transport: Assist in transporting patients to and from the observation unit, as well as to other areas of the hospital for tests, procedures, or discharge.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies or code situations, following established protocols and providing assistance to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
• Patient and Family Interaction: Provide information and support to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during their time in the observation unit.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or patient care setting is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care principles.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) entry.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.
• CPR certification (may be required or preferred).
