On behalf of our client, one of the leading companies in Greece actively involved in the wider field of Water Resources Management, through design studies, advisory work and research, we are on the look for a Hydrologist to join their team in Athens.
Your day-to-day
As a Hydrologist you will have the opportunity to work on innovative international projects, closely with other experienced Data Scientists and Engineers and you will be responsible for developing and delivering hydrological forecasting models into production.
This role requires an individual with strong hydrological model and algorithms developing background and theoretical understanding of predictive modeling and optimization algorithms.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Engineering or any other related field
- Experience with calibrating and optimizing physical models in the domain of hydrology or environmental simulation and prediction
- Data management, integration and manipulation of large datasets
- Creating hydrological datasets from model output, satellites, analysis or reanalysis, and observations
- Proficiency in Python and related aspects of software design and implementation.
- Experience with open-source data science packages
Competencies - Experience with ML models in the domain of hydrology or environmental simulation and prediction, geophysical applications
- Experience with working on cloud-based computing platforms
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude and facility with algorithmic thinking
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and oral)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
