General Manager of Business Applications will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of business application systems across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring that business applications support strategic objectives, streamline operations, and enhance productivity. The GM Business Applications will lead a team of IT professionals, collaborate with various departments, and report directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for business applications that aligns with the company’s overall business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains competitive.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of business applications, including ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
- Ensure that business applications are integrated seamlessly and function effectively across the organization.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective solutions and services.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify areas for process improvement and leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices for business application deployment and management.
- Drive the continuous optimization of business applications to meet evolving business needs.
- Develop and manage the budget for business applications, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor project timelines, costs, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure that business applications comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain the integrity of business applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT management, with a focus on business applications and enterprise systems.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale IT projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of tier 1 ERP (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft etc), CRM (Salesforce), and other enterprise systems.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across various departments (e.g., finance, operations, sales).
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and tailor applications accordingly.
- Translate technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in relevant business applications or project management methodologies (e.g., PMP®, ITIL).
- Experience in implementations/leading projects in diverse industries like Services, Fintech, Manufacturing etc
- Experience in working with Information Technology Organizations mainly dealing with Digital transformation and implementation ERP/CRM Services.
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
