The Systems Architect will have responsibility to support the technical operational aspects of the Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) and the Medicaid Data Enterprise. This includes all hardware, software and technical infrastructure in support of the design, development and implementation of the MDW and the Medicaid Data Enterprise.
Specific duties include:
- Create technical specifications;
- Reviewing and evaluating technical specification;
- Review and evaluate procurements from both a technical, financial perspective
- Support and take responsibility for enterprise licensing, budget and forecasting efforts.
- Ensuring compliance with business objectives and requirements;
- Assist NYS staff with project vendor(s) / system integrator(s);
- Ensures functionality is integrated with other applications.
- Create Logical and Physical Technology Models
- Work with Vendor and NYS ITS to support existing infrastructure
- Support Enterprise Architecture review and governance.
- Participate in Data Governance Meetings
- Fulfil requests from management
- Review new and existing data designs including database, sql and etl applications to ensure correctness
- System and Vendor Quality Assurance
System Architect: Defines the architecture of a computerized system (i.e., a system composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill certain requirement, including a breakdown of the system into components, the component interactions and interfaces (including with the environment, especially the user), and the technologies and resources to be used in the design.
Expert: 84+ Month: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or similar field of study.
- 84 months of experience specialized in systems integrations involving multiple disparate mid-tier platforms including LINUX or Unix and Windows.
- 84 months of experience with data systems utilizing Oracle and other leading database platforms.
- 84 months of experience designing and implementing Service Oriented systems using an Enterprise Services Bus or similar technology and Business Process Execution or similar language.
- 84 Months using LDAP or Enterprise Identity and Access Management solutions in large enterprise implementations
- 84 Months of Enterprise Architecture Experience including managing enterprise solutions, software license agreements, procurements, RFIs, RFPs, write proposals and overall enterprise budgets
- 84 months of experience in Audit and event logging, as well as utilizing Performance Monitoring AIX and Performance Monitoring LINUX tools.
- 84 months of experience designing, developing, implementing and supporting java based enterprise applications.
- 84 months experience in infrastructure Capacity Planning, Performance Management and related functions.
