Job Description:
The Client CIS Architect Practice organization is architecting, designing, engineering, deploying and supporting managed services and field service solutions, including IT Service Management, Remote Infrastructure Management, Self Service Portals and Knowledge Bases, Virtualization, B2B integration, and Cloud Services. Our business analysts are IT savvy versatile hands on professionals, able to help produce solutions meeting the requirements of our internal and external clients, by balancing business and technical requirements. The candidate will collaborate with various teams, from Service Line and Product Offering Architects and Technical Architects, to engineering and deployment teams, as well as account teams and their clients, and will work on cutting edge projects in a highly technical, dynamic, and fast-paced organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Business Analysis
o Conduct/Facilitate workshops to enable business units to define business services, decompose business processes and functions and contribute to organization change design.
o Contribute to the development and improvement of standards, methodologies and guiding principles for business architecture.
o Participate in the development and governance of enterprise architecture, including business architecture, information architecture and technical architecture.
o Research and provide information on business and technical trends and best practice for Architectural governance.
o Facilitate business process modeling and functional modeling sessions.
o Advice, govern and review business requirement specifications (BRS) to assure completeness, conformance to standards and ease of transition to system requirement specification (SRS).
o Research, identify and internally market enabling technologies that address business requirements.
o Assess near-term needs, using structured interview processes, to establish business priorities; consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
o Facilitate business process modeling, functional modeling and organizational design
o Assess business needs, using structured interview processes, to establish and prioritize business requirements; consult with technical subject matter experts and document technical requirements; document options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impacts.
o Modeling of interface, process, data, and business logic and rules specifications.
o Work collaboratively with business strategists, end-to-end process owners and subject matter experts Sound knowledge of presales background
· Requirements Analysis
o Ability to conduct and facilitate requirements felicitation workshops
o Analyze, specify and model requirements, deal with functional and non-functional aspects, organize and prioritize requirements.
o Define business needs and determine solution approach and scope, based on business case and capability gap assessment; assess and validate solution, including transition and organizational readiness
o Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, process owners and stakeholders.
o Interface with various stakeholders and teams.
o Complete assigned activities within schedule
· Ongoing Requirements Management:
o Maintain requirements for reuse, packaging and communication, including traceability.
o Familiarity with the use of Microsoft SharePoint
o Manage the lifecycle of requirements packages, from cradle to grave: review business requirement specifications to assure completeness, conformance to standards and ease of transition to architecture, design and system specifications.
· Assist with client issues and with RFI/RFPs, as needed.
Skills Required
Must Have
· Advanced English communications skills in formal writing and speaking
· Minimum of 5-8 years of experience working in a technical environment supporting computing infrastructure and end user services
· General knowledge of infrastructure components and methodologies, to translate business and offering requirements into technical architectures and documentation that can be seamlessly integrated into the overall production infrastructure.
· Business level analysis of advanced global applications (such as Field Services, End User Portals, Service Catalogs, Knowledge Bases and IT Service Management systems)
· Effectively understand and document business and technical requirements, package and manage requirements, and manage traceability with development and testing.
· Ability to document process and procedure definitions, create process and data models.
· Ability to conduct a process review and gap analysis for tools and complex systems.
· Ability to facilitate requirements development and modeling activities and workshops.
· Familiarity with techniques such as acceptance and evaluation criteria definition, benchmarking, decision analysis, focus groups, functional decomposition, interface analysis, interviews, lessons-learned process, non-functional requirements analysis.
· Understanding of launch process for sophisticated services relying on complex software systems
· Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), especially MS Word
· Foundation certification or familiarity with ITIL v3 framework lifecycle concepts
· Familiarity with one or more of the following:
o Cloud and virtualization technology, (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix)
o Infrastructure security and networking
o Monitoring, (e.g. Nagios)
o ServiceNow or the BMC Remedy ITSM 8.x suites
o Self-Service Portals and Service Catalogs, (e.g. Liferay)
o IT Service Management Dashboards and Reporting, (e.g. PureShare)
o B2B integration, (e.g. webMethods or Informatica)
· Knowledge of SDLC concepts with previous direct exposure to software application development with:
o Experience in either RUP, Agile, Waterfall
o An understanding of IT/software solution architecture
o A background in at least one application development language and environment
· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to deal with clients, partners and peers located worldwide with a flexibility of aligning work to other time zones, as needed.
Nice to Have
· IIBA CBAP certification or equivalent
· Overall understanding of the managed services solutions pre-sales process
· Familiarity with the documentation of conceptual, logical and physical architectures
· Working knowledge of requirements management tool such as IBM Rational Requisite-Pro, DOORS, IBM Rational Requirements Composer, etc.
· Familiarity with modeling tools such as the Rational Suite of products, Enterprise Architect etc.
· Familiarity with web applications, process engines, middleware, and relational databases.
· Knowledge of process related frameworks like TOGAF, COBIT, or ISO
Education and Work Experience
· Minimum Bachelor's degree (Master's Degree preferred) with focus on English, Computer Science, and/or Engineering from a leading institute
· Minimum of 5 years of work experience
