This role requires a developer with a strong holistic understanding of the web, including HTML and day-to-day working on Linux. The individual should love building user-friendly websites and possess a penchant for JavaScript.</p><p><strong>In the first month, you might be:</strong></p><ul><li>Setting up and managing CMS-based websites that users love!</li><li>Deploying websites on Linux servers and troubleshooting server-side issues via command-line.</li><li>Managing and optimising Javascript, SQL and NoSQL databases for high-traffic applications, ensuring data consistency and performance across the infrastructure.</li><li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support web infrastructure and integration of third-party services with web integration, ensuring seamless communication and project alignment.</li><li>Utilising domain name management and SEO expertise to improve website discoverability and user experience.</li><li>Enhancing web applications to support real-world infrastructure demands, including debugging, scaling, and optimising performance.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Run and debug web infrastructure, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.</li><li>Development and management of integrations with 3rd party services and integrations such as Stripe, BTCPay, MailChimp and others.</li><li>Deploy and manage web applications on Linux servers.</li><li>Work with SQL databases and various NoSQL/attribute-value stores.</li><li>Manage domain names and optimize websites for SEO.</li><li>Set up and manage CMS platforms, specifically Strapi, for content management.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams on web projects and infrastructure scaling.</li><li>Maintain the website and integrate it with third-party applications.</li></ul><p><strong>What You Bring to the Team:</strong></p><ul><li>Professional experience in web technologies, including CMS management, server-side API's and back-end components.</li><li>Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments and deployment processes.</li><li>Strong foundational knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, and NoSQL technologies.</li><li>Practical experience using react server components and vercel. </li><li>Ability to edit HTML by hand if needed.</li><li>Familiarity with domain name management and basic SEO best practices.</li><li>Ability to run/debug real-world web infrastructure, API's and databases. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).</li><li>Strong experience with Strapi CMS is essential.</li><li>Proficiency with modern web frameworks, such as Next.js, Laravel, Django, or Rails, is required.</li><li>Familiarity with email server management is a plus.</li><li>Ability to work across the full stack, handling front-end, back-end, and infrastructure changes as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>What we offer you:</strong></p><ul><li>A diverse and collaborative team of 50+, interested in learning and solving problems together.</li><li>6 Weeks annual leave plus national holidays.</li><li>Yearly learning and development allowance.</li><li>IT hardware package tailored to your role.</li><li>Remote working (with a bias towards being able to do in-person meetups periodically).</li><li>A competitive salary.</li></ul> •
