As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team of six salespeople, selling corrugated custom packaging, consumables, promotional displays, and retail. The territory is the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, with a focus on small and medium-sized businesses. This position is a replacement role due to retirement. You will lead, manage, oversee performance, implement sales strategies and KPIs, and work closely with the sales team to acquire new and maintain existing accounts. This position reports to the general manager. The base salary is $130,000 - $140,000 plus bonuses.

The division was founded in 1959 and currently has 57 employees focused on selling coregulated packaging solutions, including boxes, point-of-purchase displays, retail packaging, and packaging consumables to small and medium-sized businesses across all industries. OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:
• Head Office - Markham, Ontario
• Work-from-office three days/week
• Territory – Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• 3-5 years of sales leadership experience in a similar role.
• Industry experiences are an asset but not a pre-requisite.
• Experience selling a commodity product (not the least expensive) to a similar client base.

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:
• Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business goals and objectives, including revenue growth, market expansion, and customer retention.
• Team Management: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of 6 sales representatives to meet and exceed sales targets. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement and professional development.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Regularly engage with customers to understand their needs, address any concerns, and identify opportunities for additional sales.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Use this information to adjust sales strategies and stay competitive in the market.
• Sales Operations: Oversee daily sales activities, including prospecting, lead generation, quoting, and closing deals. Ensure the sales process is efficient and effective, and align with company policies and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the production, logistics, and quality control teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Communicate customer requirements and feedback to relevant departments to enhance product offerings and service quality.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales reports to the General Manager, including sales performance, market trends, and forecasts. Use data to drive decision-making and improve sales strategies.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring that all expenses are within the approved budget and that resources are allocated effectively.
• Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies. Uphold ethical standards and maintain a high level of integrity in all business dealings.
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:
• Less than 10% (Tradeshows, etc).
SUPPORT & TRAINING:
• Working with the inside sales/customer service team
• Be provided with some house accounts to work with.
• Work closely with the General Manager
