We are seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer to plan, design, and execute drilling operations for oil and gas wells. In this role, you will work closely with geologists, drilling crews, and other engineers to ensure efficient and safe drilling processes while optimizing operational costs and performance.
Your key responsibilities will include fieldwork, technical analysis, and collaboration across departments to achieve high standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise drilling activities on-site to ensure operations are conducted according to design, within budget, and on time.
- Monitor the drilling process, including drilling parameters, equipment performance, and well progress.
- Develop and optimize drilling programs, including well trajectory, drilling fluid, and casing design.
- Coordinate the use and maintenance of drilling equipment, such as drills, rigs, and blowout preventers.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and troubleshooted to prevent operational disruptions.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry regulations to prevent accidents and environmental damage.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential operational hazards.
- Maintain compliance with local, national, and international environmental standards, including well control and waste management.
- Prepare detailed reports on well performance, including analysis of any operational issues, downtime, or deviations.
- Work closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and drilling crews to ensure alignment on well objectives and strategy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working on drilling rigs and with well operations in a variety of geological settings.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, well construction, and completion techniques.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in drilling engineering or related oil and gas engineering roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in using drilling engineering software (e.g., Landmark, Petrel, or similar).
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems in real-time.
- Expertise in drilling software, simulation tools, and data analysis programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IWCF Well Control certification or equivalent.
- HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) certifications.
- A master’s degree or specialized certifications (e.g., Well Control).
- Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., WellCat, Wellsim, or Petex for wellbore modeling).
We would be happy to get to know you and your skills better and see how we can support each other's growth.
