Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), acquires medium-sized companies and parts of groups with headquarter in Europe that are being sold in the course of a repositioning process at their owners and show a clear potential for operational improvement. Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams as well as through acquisitions of strategic add-ons. Our goal is to acquire companies with a turnover of EUR 50 to 500 million. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.
For our Operations department, Commercial Excellence team, we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) for a period of 4 to 6 months, location flexible.
Your Tasks
- Support our portfolio companies in the transformation of their sales and/or marketing organisation and the implementation of defined measures on site
- Analyse problems and develop concrete improvement initiatives and implement them on your own responsibility
- Realise practical quick wins and minimise cash bleeding
- Work with the local team and Mutares colleagues to develop a sales strategy to increase sales and profitability, e.g. by entering new markets, introducing new products and adjusting prices
- Review and evaluate the customer base and product portfolio and help implement rationalisation and/or repositioning
- Also gain experience through regular interaction with other functional areas of the Mutares team on site (production, finance, supply chain, etc.)
Your Profile
- Currently studying for a Master's degree in the field of economics, engineering or natural sciences; a very good Bachelor's degree is desirable
- Ideally first relevant previous experience through internships in the areas of consulting, private equity, sales
- Interest/first experience in the design and implementation of operational processes along the entire value chain or the design and optimisation of internal structures and knowledge databases
- High motivation, flexibility and willingness to perform
- Independent and structured way of working
- Very good knowledge of English, other European foreign languages desirable (e.g. German, French)
- Confident handling of MS Office applications (esp. Excel)
- Willingness to travel up to four days (Mon-Thu) a week
