The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Director of Internal Audit in continuing the early stage development of the Genius Sports Internal Audit Function. The Function provides independent and objective assurance across core operational and financial processes.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Manager will play a hands-on role to lead the annual development and execution of the Genius Sports Internal Audit Plan.

The Internal Audit Manager will join the already established Internal Audit Team, responsible for both the execution of the annual internal audit plan and the internal SOX assessment. The Internal Audit Manager will focus exclusively on the execution of internal audit reviews.

As the internal audit program matures, the role will increasingly manage and oversee the work of junior members of the team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of the internal audit methodology.
  • Assist in the strategic and tactical planning of the Internal Audit Function, including budgeting and resourcing.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with executive and senior management.
  • Support the annual revision of the internal audit methodology and audit templates.
  • Work closely with the Director of Internal Audit in the development of the Internal Audit Plan.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of internal audits, including the drafting of terms of references and audit reports, in accordance with the internal audit methodology.
  • Lead the drafting and presenting of audit findings to executive and senior management.
  • Lead the development of value-adding audit recommendations.
  • Track and monitor management actions to address audit findings.
  • As directed by the Director of Internal Audit, undertake special projects and/or limited assurance reviews.
  • Assist the development of Audit Committee reports on internal audit activity.
  • Manage and develop junior members of staff, including the review of workpapers.

Required Skills

  • Experience in a comparable role at either Internal Audit Manager or Assistant Manager level working either in an in-house multi-national firm or an accountancy firm.
  • Strong written and inter-personal skills.
  • Multi-client, commerce experience.
  • Proven ability to lead audits and manage audit teams.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor).

Desirable Skills

  • Data Analytics knowledge.
  • SOX assessment experience.
  • Tech industry experience.
