THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Payments Lead to join our Sell My Car team. The Payments Lead will be instrumental in developing and managing our new wallet system, where car dealers can transfer funds to pay for cars won in digital auctions. This role requires a strong understanding of payment processes, compliance (KYC and RFI), and customer service excellence. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operations, from dealer onboarding to day-to-day payment processing and issue resolution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support the development and implementation of the carwow wallet system collaborating cross-functionally to integrate the wallet with existing platforms.

• Oversee the onboarding process for car dealers, ensuring completion of all compliance steps including KYC (Know Your Customer) and RFI (Request for Information).

• Monitor and manage the flow of funds within the wallet system, ensuring dealers have sufficient funds for their winning bids ensuring smooth car collections.

• Proactively identify and resolve any payment-related issues or discrepancies, and serve as the primary point of contact for payment escalations from sellers or dealers.

• Analyse payment processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation, and implement best practices for payment processing and compliance.

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Proven experience in a payments or financial operations role, preferably within the automotive,  e-commerce sector, or digital wallets..
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, compliance requirements, and financial regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle escalations effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
