Pay Range: $30.31/hr. - $39.40/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

The Administrative Services Coordinator (Dept. HR Lead) job is available with the City of Fort Worth in the Environmental Services Department. Environmental Services Department works to protect public health, properties, environmental and natural resources through effective management strategies, public education, and engagement with the community in order to create a clean, safe, and green city.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, human resources, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative and fiscal management experience in support of a department, division, or major service area.
  • One (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Peoplesoft or other comparable system.
  • Experience in various Human Resource functions and laws regulating all aspects of employment (administrative, medical records, FMLA, ADA criteria, Worker’s Compensation).
  • Experience with record management and confidentiality.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working for a municipal or local government entity.

The Administrative Services Coordinator job responsibilities include: 

  • Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
  • Serves as project leader of assigned major programs and projects; tracks and monitors projects; provides a summary of project completion and accurate payment schedules; and negotiates contracts concerning programs and projects, as needed.
  • Evaluates and analyzes information from various sources on a variety of specialized topics related to assigned programs; prepares reports and makes presentations, as required; prepares various complex administrative, financial, and statistical reports; and distributes to appropriate managers and officials.
  • Serves as an assigned department liaison with other city departments, divisions and outside agencies; chairs or facilitates citywide Boards or committees; and negotiates and resolves sensitive issues.
  • Assists in the preparation, development, interpretation, and implementation of City and departmental program standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation and development of the department’s annual budget process; monitors and approves expenditures, as needed; ensures adherence to department/division budgets; and recommends budget adjustments and modifications as appropriate and necessary.
