We are looking for a Product Designer who will think beyond ordinary solutions to create world-class products for leading companies. In this role, you will collaborate with talented teams to create digital experiences that millions of people not only use, but love.

This role is offered in partnership with Gluo, our sister company in México. As part of our collaborative efforts, you will report to the UX Lead at Gluo, work closely with both of the design teams at Gluo and Orium, and work with clients in either LATAM, the US, or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal team members and external stakeholders to optimize and design sites, components, and interfaces, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain and iterate design systems, ensuring continuous improvement of existing components while collaborating with internal stakeholders such as developers and designers.
  • Perform  Design Quality Assurance  (DQA) for visual and interaction design, working closely with developers to ensure a polished implementation of the design system.
  • Resolve design-related tickets and issues, providing timely solutions and ensuring the quality and consistency of design deliverables.
  • Use existing research insights, requirements, and sketches as design inputs to create wireframes that solve needs and challenges across different user types.
  • Use conceptual sketches, diagrams, and maps to develop and communicate a vision for interaction models and experience architectures. (maybe a more basic version of this)
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations and usability testing, and implement best practices.
  • Facilitate internal and external design reviews, collect client feedback, and drive approvals.
  • Support Product Strategy team members as they define experience/product requirements throughout delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience working as a user experience professional with hands-on experience in the role, designing website interfaces and managing design systems.
  • A college or university degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A portfolio with projects demonstrating:
    • Real-life project experiences (non-hypothetical)
    • Strong visual design skills oriented to UI.
    • Responsive design.
  • Strong communication skills. You should be comfortable when called on to share your ideas with your peers and are comfortable giving and receiving feedback when appropriate.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)

Bonus points if you:

  • Have a solid understanding of UX principles (information architecture, flow diagrams, usability, etc.)
  • Are proficient in collaborative design and UI prototyping software: Figma, Miro, and others.
  • Bring agency experience and exposure to e-commerce projects.
  • Have a conceptual understanding of HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Have a very good understanding of accessibility principles and guidelines.

Is this Role a Fit for You?

The Product Designer role emphasizes team collaboration, problem-solving, passion in your area of expertise, and a strategic mindset. You'll find fulfillment in the role if:

  • You thoroughly enjoy collaborative work. You enjoy knowledge sharing in all directions and relish the opportunity to be part of a team that co-owns the output, instead of a solo design hero who lives and dies by their work alone.
  • You’re a resourceful and a natural problem-solver who doesn't stop at obstacles and sorts them out as you go.
  • You find satisfaction in the consistency of repetitive tasks, approaching them with a meticulous and positive mindset, and thrive to find opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization.
  • You thrive on optimizing design and solving problems. You collaborate effectively with developers in an agile delivery environment, always eager to move things forward with your proactive and innovative approach.
  • You’re extremely detail-oriented. Every pixel matters to you. Your keen eye for detail guarantees a high standard of quality in all your design work, leaving no aspect overlooked.
