Summary: Verify,compile and prepare application information for mortgage loans accurately andon a timely basis. Obtain credit reports, order appraisals and request mortgagepay-offs; obtain verification forms and update files and tracking systems uponreceipt. Possess excellent customer service skills and is detail oriented. Familiarwith standard practices, concepts and procedures within a particularfield. Rely on experience and judgmentto accomplish goals. Ability to performa variety of tasks. Work under minimalsupervision; typically reporting to Assistant Vice President, Mortgage &Wholesale. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. May trainor supervise new/other Mortgage Loan Processors.
JobDuties:
Orders all support documentation for loanapplications, including credit report, appraisals, verification of employment,deposit and mortgage references. Checksdata against Borrowers data to verify accuracy and lack of discrepancies.
Process credit packages completely within 15 - 20days.
Reviews residential loan application file to verifythat application data is complete and meets establishment standards, includingtype and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities and length ofemployment.
Submits loan file to Underwriters for approval andcommunicates status to real estate agents, loan officers, and closing attorneys. Records data on status of loans on themortgage software.
Analyzes and submits files to Automated Underwriting System.
Recommends that any loan not meeting establishedstandards be denied.
Communicates with borrowers and other parties givingimmediate attention to any problems occurring during processing.
Reviews and analyzes applications, appraisals,credit and disclosures.
Keeps abreast of any FHA, Client, FHLMC, HUD, VA &Freddie Mac changes, requirements, etc. in order to ensure compliance.
Education and/or Experience: AssociatesDegree (A.A.) from a two year college or technical school; six (6) years ofexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience. Mortgage processing experienceand/or training required.
Computer Skills: To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Window s, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /calendar and Internet Explorer software. Experiencewith Encompass Banker & AUS aplus.
