Hello Neighbor is seeking a Wellness Liaison who speaks English proficiently and whose native or first language is either Spanish, Swahili and French, Ukrainian, or Dari and Pashto.
The Wellness Liaison will provide culturally sensitive, practical, and emotional support to resettled refugees and other ORR-eligible persons in communities around Pittsburgh, focusing on client outreach, community integration, and advocacy for appropriate care standards.
In this role, the Wellness Liaison will connect with clients to conduct wellness checks, organize community activities, and provide critical resources such as interpretation services and transportation guidance. Acting as a cultural mediator, the Wellness Liaison helps clients build connections within their communities while ensuring that their unique needs are met, supported by a network of Hello Neighbor services and external providers. This hybrid, part-time position offers a meaningful opportunity to support immigrant and refugee communities with empathy, cultural awareness, and hands-on assistance.
Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new home. We’ve expanded from our mentorship program to now include refugee resettlement services, family service programs, a national program supporting other refugee and immigrant nonprofits around the country.
This position is a temporary, part-time (6-month contract with possibility of extension), non-exempt position at our Pittsburgh, PA office in Larimer. This role has in-office responsibilities but will primarily be virtual and in the community.
We require the COVID-19 vaccination for employees. The successful candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
