In this role, you will take the lead in developing and implementing a range of initiatives to drive engagement within the STEM Ambassador Community. Working closely with the STEM Community Manager, you will create and share compelling content, support community members, and amplify the community’s impact through strategic partnerships.
You will bring the STEM Ambassadors’ contributions to life through interactive online discussions, insightful articles, and engaging multimedia. By championing our community and fostering collaboration among STEM Ambassadors, educators, and stakeholders, you will ensure the community thrives with active and engaged members.
The work is varied and exciting—one day you might be filming with one of our amazing volunteers, another you could be planning a campaign to celebrate a milestone number of volunteering hours or designing a competition to showcase the work of STEM Ambassadors.
This is a fantastic time to join the team and shape how we engage our community of STEM Ambassadors and educators. You will have the opportunity to work creatively, identify new opportunities to showcase the incredible contributions of our community members, and take ownership of key projects and initiatives that demonstrate the value of our network. You will regularly evaluate progress and refine our approach to ensure continuous improvement.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who can support the STEM Community Manager in keeping our community thriving and continually improving. You should have a keen eye for creating engaging content, enjoy building relationships, and have experience in online community management or similar roles. You will need to have an enthusiastic, adaptable, and resilient approach and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment.
STEM Learning’s vision is improving lives through STEM education. To achieve this, we provide a range of support from formal and informal education, including subject-specific professional development for teachers and other educators, quality assured resources, support for STEM Clubs and other activities, and student-facing experiences. Our belief is that an outstanding STEM education coupled with timely, high quality and progressive STEM enrichment and inspiration activities, can positively impact young people and their future opportunities and address our current and future skills gaps.
Across the UK, we continue to face significant challenges in a pipeline of skills for the future in STEM related occupations and industries. If the UK is to remain competitive, we need increasing numbers of young people to be enthused by STEM subjects at school, to be inspired by the careers available and motivated to pursue a STEM related pathway through education and beyond.
The STEM Ambassador Programme is the UK’s largest STEM volunteering Programme, enabling nearly 26,000 individuals from more than 5,000 employers to share their enthusiasm and expertise about STEM subjects and careers with young people and teachers throughout the UK.
Positive and mutually beneficial partnerships with employers, scientific societies, professional institutions and other organisations are fundamental to everything STEM Learning does.
There is no closing date for this appointment; applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis so early applications are recommended.
If you would like an informal discussion about the role please get in touch with Tim Bradbury (STEM Community Manager) t.bradbury@ stem.org.uk (NO AGENCIES).
