Responsibilities:
The Low Voltage Project Manager executes the Low-Voltage scopes of a project to include Structured Cabling, Audio Visual, Security Systems, Overhead Paging, Intercom, etc.
The Low Voltage Project Manager will lead teams of technicians, Labor Super and subcontractors in addition to working with clients and company management to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget and according to specifications/plans
Ensure appropriate management of all aspects of the Project, Client, and vendor involvement throughout the life of the project.
Directly manage and coordinate with team members and varying dependent organizations to ensure successful on time completion of passive design implementations
Maintain cabling documentation (server and ports, structured cabling paths, switches, ports)
Manage suppliers/vendors in new builds upgrades throughout the campus
Provide detailed status reports to Management on a regular basis
Maintain detailed project plan, scope, and associated metrics
Produce and submit necessary paperwork and forms for internal approvals (FEMA, RFP's, PO's, etc.)
Document and track Structured Cabling budget along with vendor invoicing for each project
Project Management of the design and implementation of challenging telecommunications pathways, spaces, and cable plant projects
Issue RFI''s and Product submittals for the low voltage projects based on design and field conditions.
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in the construction industry in a Project Management role
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in similar low voltage construction, methods and equipment, tools and work procedures required
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedure
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
Effective performance management skills
Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and meet customer's needs, expectations and requirements
Demonstrates expertise in commercial low voltage systems installation field management, design and contracting
Must be a self-starter and a problem solver
Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Be able to commit to being a full-time Project Manager
Preferred to have a Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) BICSI certification
The Project Manager shall be experienced in CAT6 and fiber optic cabling and standards, wireless infrastructure planning and installation technologies
Project Manager shall have demonstrated technical experience in communicating the ability execute site surveys consisting of cable plant drawings, computer room layouts, and rack elevation diagrams, coordinating cabling efforts, scheduling and project management
Project Manager shall have demonstrated technical experience in reviewing, design, installation, testing, and documentation of cable infrastructure, floor drawings, VISO networking hardware and telecommunications
Must be willing to travel to jobs sites to attend job and client meetings.
Must be willing to undergo a background test and drug test
