Senior Backend Engineer

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced team in Malta.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the back-end of software applications
• Optimize the performance and responsiveness of the back-end system through improved algorithms
• Design and implement database systems
• Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity
• Collaborate with other members of the development team and stakeholders to develop and integrate new features and enhancements
• Help define and improve the Company’s customer's internal standards for style, maintainability and best practices for a high-scale web environment
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to team members, as well as promote best practices and good architecture
• Help migrate the customer's old code to the new codebase

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven Experience as a Senior Backend Engineer
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar
• Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc
• Knowledge of frameworks such as Spring, Django, ASP.NET, etc
• Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding architecture and technology
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities
