PAVING SUPERINTENDENT in REGIONAL RALEIGH NC AREA!!

It is a GREAT  time to be a construction professional!  We are searching for a safety-focused,results-driven, experienced PAVING SUPERINTENDENT for heavy civil projects in Raleigh, NC, and the Surrounding Area. Experience levels and project locations vary. DOT, Heavy Highway, and municipality road project experience and strong leadership skills are required.

Position:    Paving Superintendent                                  Salary:  Based Upon Qualifications and Experience (Starting Range between $95K-$115K!!) 

Location:    Raleigh NC  and Surrounding Areas             Hours:  Need flexibility with schedule- Some night shift and 8HR+ workdays based upon paving schedule

The superintendent oversees day-to-day operations and directs the management of equipment, foreman, operators, field operations, subcontractors, supplies, and project safety. Superintendents work as project and team leaders to ensure the paving project(s) is delivered on time, within -budget, and safely.

General Job Duties of a Superintendent: 

• Responsible for being a direct contact between clients, subcontractors, and personnel on the project site
• Manages critical project information and ensures all information is communicated in a timely manner to the project management team
• Adheres to labor and production schedules, ensuring that projects are built on time and within budget and improving profit margin
• Manages multiple paving projects and paving teams
• Determines Means and Methods of Construction Project
• Complete and accurate project logs and documentation and progress reports and photos
• Prepare and submit weekly and two-week look-ahead plans 
• Trains and provides leadership to construction team
• Complete any electronic and/or required paperwork for daily and weekly reports accurately detailing employee and equipment hours, completed quantities, and other activities on site
• Ensure work is completed in the highest company quality manner and according to QA/QC specifications, minimizing rework or call-back
• Other Duties as Assigned

Job Skills & Qualifications/Education Requirements:

• Minimum of Six (6) years experience in a Paving Superintendent capacity Required 
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Ability to read, comprehend, and build out construction drawings, specifications, and legal documentation
• Self-starter and self-manger
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple teams 
• Excellent Mathmatic Skills- Need to be able to measure units, and quantities needed in paving operations 
• Demonstrated and proven leadership ability
• Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Microsoft Office, HeavyJob,Procore
• Large Scale Paving and Resurfacing Projects Required 
• Knowledge of NCDOT and Municipality Specs
• Excellent reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Excellent verbal communication skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or project meetings
• Quality control of the project to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and the ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, MSHA, QMS Roadway Certifications Needed 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
• Ability to work in outside environments, varied weather, and around and with paving environments that consist of caustic fumes and high vibrations of equipment relevant to the paving environment.
