Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are fundamentally changing the design, economics, manufacturing, coverage limitations and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
By building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system—with a unique antenna design, highly sustainable spacecraft system and low-cost, small portable end-user devices—we can extend global satellite coverage, capacity and connectivity beyond legacy space services to provide a new kind of IoT platform that lets users sense, track, connect and act on information gathered, anywhere.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to saving space, protecting our planet and turning connectivity into actionable intelligence.
As the Software Engineer, you will be part of the SW development team that creates and deploys innovative communication SW for ground to satellite communication. This SW is based on Rel 17 and higher 3GPP Non-Terrestrial Network standards. The SW spans from PHY up to PDCP/RLC and RRM at gNB and to NAS at UE side. Depending on your previous experiences, you will start either in the PHY or Protocol Stack SW domain, and eventually have the opportunity cover both SW areas.
What you will do
- Implementation of 5G PHY and Protocol Stack algorithms onto Processor Platforms
- Creation of test cases for PHY and Protocol Stack functionality
- Verification of PHY and Protocol Stack functionality against test equipment such as R&S/Agilent or Commercial UEs
- Debugging of SW implementation errors
- Documentation of implemented work
- Integration of 5G PHY and Protocol Stack with RF
- Integration of 5G PHY with Protocol Stack
- Managing SoC HW architecture
- Effort estimation of implementation of SW task
- Reporting on progress of SW implementation
What you bring to this role
- MSc/MEng in Electrical/Communications Engineering or equivalent
- Significant experience as an embedded C/C++ software developer
- Working knowledge of MATLAB
- Working knowledge of Perl/Python scripting language
- Team player and agile SW development practices
- Familiar with SDR and SoC architectures
- Working in a local organization with talent from all over the world
- Ability to read and understand 3GPP Rel 17 and higher standards for our 5G gNB and 5G UE products
- Ability to derive algorithms and /or implementation out of 3GPP Rel 17 and higher standards for our 5G gNB and 5G UE products
- Ability to develop and analyze 5G Algorithm by means of Matlab and/or C language
- Ability to analyze and develop 5G gNB scheduler implementation
- Ability to analyze and develop 5G PHY layer gNB and UE features in SW based on abstract I/F description
- Ability to develop SW I/F towards embedded accelerators and/or HW I/Fs
- Ability to implement SW test cases suitable for verifying the to be implemented 5G feature
- Ability to generate and verify 5G test vectors on PHY and Protocol Stack level
- Ability to operate PHY 5G test equipment such as Agilent
- Ability to program Embedded SW C
- Understand the constraints of Real Time SW
- Ability to program C/C++
- Ability to write Make files
- Ability to write scripts in languages such as Perl or Python
- Ability to understand Intel, ARM, DSP HW, I/Fs and other accelerators on various SoC platforms
- Ability to understand and work with ARM and DSP architecture
