The institution, founded in 2021, stands out as a tuition-free coding school, aiming to democratise access to software engineering education. The schools are centrally located in Berlin, Neukölln and in Wolfsburg-City. They empower aspiring coders and foster inclusivity within the tech landscape driven by innovative peer-learning methodologies that prioritise individual autonomy.

This Director role offers a chance to be at the forefront of shaping the future of tech education by leading their mission to empower the next generation of coders.

As a Director, you will be responsible for driving the success, development, and sustainable future of both schools, collaborating closely with the association, partners, stakeholders, and the licensor 42 Paris.

Tasks

What you´ll be doing:

• Drive the success and growth of both schools by identifying and pursuing business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and engaging sponsors.
• Foster an inclusive and innovation-driven environment while staying updated on trends in education and software development for state-of-the-art training programs.
• Collaborate with the association's board and praesidium, reporting regularly on school status, significant incidents, and decisions made.
• Lead the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) process, shaping budgets, headcount, salary structures, and growth plans aligned with the association's goals.
• Cultivate relationships with sponsors, partners, the Advisory Board ("Kuratorium"), and stakeholders, representing the schools to a broader audience.
• Engage with the 42 Network and local stakeholders, expanding and maintaining crucial connections.
• Develop strategic plans, guide decision-making processes, and prioritise activities within the school teams.
• Facilitate transparent communication across the organisation and establish clear salary structures.
• Oversee the yearly budget and ensure responsible spending aligned with the association's statutes.

Requirements

What you´ll bring to the table:

• Proven leadership in education, technology, or related fields.
• Strong strategic planning, business development, and financial management expertise.
• Experience in association or non-profit environments is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and contract oversight.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on innovation and educational trends.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and foster collaborative team environments.
• Adaptability and openness to innovation and change.
• Ethical decision-making aligned with organisational purposes.
• Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Flexibility for occasional travel as required for conferences or networking events.
