We are seeking a Head of Data Product Management (full-time) to steer our Data Product Management team in Berlin.

As our Head of Data Product Management, you'll lead the charge in developing a forward-thinking data product strategy that powers our mission. You'll work within a diverse and dynamic environment, enjoying flexible hours and remote work options, while driving the creation of pioneering data products.
You will:
- Drive Data Product management portfolio vision and strategy within Babbel, translating company strategy into tangible data products
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with data team leaders / directors, ensuring strategic alignment and clear communication
- Drive the change management and rollout of Data Product Operating Model within Babbel to ensure the adoption of new data creation processes, data lineage and cataloging tools, and ways of working
- Set the benchmarks for methodologies, standards, and models in data product management chapter
- Lead the restructuring of the Data Product org. from ‘One-Team-Does-It-All’ to domain-oriented, decentralized teams
- Drive data education and knowledge management across Babbel clusters to champion a culture of data quality excellence and continuous improvement across all data products and stakeholders
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback, shaping the skills and careers of data product managers team
You are:
- Experience: At least 7+ years in leading data product strategies, with a focus on consumer companies (edtech or data-first organizations preferred). A minimum of 3+ years in organizational change management and 5+ years in deploying data platforms linked to business OKRs
- Skills: Proficiency in areas such as Data Analysis, Data Engineering, Data Visualization, AI & Machine Learning, SQL and Database Management. Knowledgeable in Data Governance, Data Product Development, Business Intelligence Tools, Data Strategy, Data Architecture, Product Lifecycle Management, User Experience & UI Design, Agile and Scrum, Market Research, Data Monetization, Data Literacy, Project Management, Regulatory and Compliance, Cloud Technologies, and Prototyping
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of building effective teams and promoting a data product culture. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to foster agile and data-driven mindsets
You have:
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to navigate complex projects and foster a productive, energetic team environment
- Expertise in master data management, data product creation and data engineering
- A track record of building and restructuring data product organizations into efficient, domain-oriented teams
- Commitment to mentoring and supporting the career development of data product manager teams, including involvement in hiring and interviewing processes
- Active participation and leadership in data product community events, showcasing thought leadership and sharing best practices
- The ability to translate chaos into harmony, bringing insight and a proactive 'let's-get-it-done' attitude to every challenge
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting and cultivating a data product culture, fostering agile and data-driven mindsets
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, providing valuable data product inputs in decision-making and establishing relationships with external data partners and vendors
