Aufgaben
Your tasks – this is what awaits you in detail
- As a Lead Platform Engineer (f/m/d) in one of our Infrastructure teams, your goal is to deliver the best possible developer experience and guarantee a reliable and performant production environment.
- You work closely with other Platform and Software Engineers to design & build a platform for our internal customers and maintain infrastructure.
- Collaborate with technical and functional partners to build new data solutions that fit the problems we need to solve on the application side.
- Analyze business application requirements, identify concerns and develop action plans.
- Train and mentor other Platform Engineers within your team.
- Architect new databases and data processing systems to deliver scalable, highly available, maintainable, cross-region solutions.
- You will orchestrate and design clusters using technologies like RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB and Redis .using state of the art IaC technologies like Terraform and Ansible.
- You evaluate and work with various services within cloud platforms.
- You develop and deploy cloud services via infrastructure-as-code.
- Specific tasks you could work on:
- Implementing self-service for development teams to create new databases/cache/message-brokers clusters for their microservices.
- Improving developer experience through test data import/generation for testing environments.
- Operational support to development teams with heavy migration scripts, optimization of queries, indexes, queue consumers, etc.
- Intensive influence on the team's product visions and roadmap
Profil
Your profile – this is what we expect from you
- Your background is Software/DevOps/Platform Engineer, Architect or similar
- You have a background as Software Engineer, preferably with focus on Go or TypeScript
- You have extensive experience with IaC, preferably with Terraform and/or Ansible
- You bring sound experience with at least two of the following tools and technologies related to Database clustering/high-availability: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ
- Experience in functional leadership of a team
- Nice to haves:
- Monitoring and alerting (preferably Datadog)
- CI/CD (preferably GitLab & Helm)
- Cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
- Containers and container orchestration (preferably Kubernetes & GKE)
- You are willing to participate in rotating on-call duties.
- You understand the concept of a modern platform and strive to solve the problems of your customers.
- You possess analytical and troubleshooting skills, relative fluency in coding and high traffic / high availability system architecture and a desire to tackle complex problems.
- You are a strong team player and enjoy collaborating with different people and profiles as well as share knowledge and strive for continuous development and learning.
- You have excellent communication skills, are willing to embrace our company culture & values and enjoy working in an international, english-speaking team.
