SF Recruitment have an exciting opportunity recruiting for a Buyer for their client based near Derby. As the Buyer you will be responsible for the procurement of materials required for production. This is a full-time permanent office-based role working Monday-Friday 8-5 finishing at 12 on Fridays. Ideal candidates will have experience working in Supply Chain in a multi-stakeholder environment. The purpose of this role will be to support the Purchasing Lead delivering best value, price and quality. Main Duties - Builds internal and external relationships - Involvement in supply chain strategy and approach - Manage supply chain risks, both in terms of material availability and cost in collaboration with Site Purchasing Lead - Demonstrate the use of the RF(x) methodology to collate spend opportunities within spend categories, and the analytical ability to process the information received into a sourcing recommendation - Develop, lead and manage the procurement process for project specific areas of spend - Maintenance of fixed pricing schedules, maximising long term agreements and ensuring global requirements are considered - Manage intercompany transactions and inventory movements ensuring deadlines are met - Manage the supply chain to ensure Sustainability of procurement sources and introduce environmental improvements to the materials and processes used in the end-to-end procurement process - Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms, pricing and service levels. - As a key business support function, you will provide support to all internal and external customers as required - Take the commercial lead in support of Supplier Quality in vendor related non-conformances and development, ensuring lessons learned are executed fully Essential - 3 years' experience in a similar Supply Chain role - Excellent sourcing skills - Supplier management experience - Negotiation processes - Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel - Commercial awareness and hunger for best value The client is looking for someone with excellent communication skills with experience of implementing category and supplier plans. You must have a pro-active mentality with good organisation and time management skills. Prior experience or technical knowledge in procurement would be desirable along with a CIPS qualification.
